In Problem- Based Learning, students are either given a pre-defined problem or a "wicked" problem or "fuzzy" situation from which to extract specific problems. Students then must attempt to solve the problem and create a solution that attempts to address the problem.
Art Final PBL- Students in Art class were required to define a problem or challenge they wished to address
Disaster Challenge PBL- Students had to define a problem related to a natural disaster, then solve it!
Energy Challenge PBL- Students were required to find a way to "innovate energy" in some way!
Teach A Bioengineering Concept- Students are challenged to develop a tool to teach an advanced bioengineering concept (e.g., DNA transcription and translation) to young children. [images coming soon!]
Advanced Fabrication Design Challenge- Students are challenged to develop a product that solves a problem for another person, by following the Engineering Design Process and using digital fabrication tools, like 3D printers, CNC routers, and more.
